Here are a few options for uploading your PowerPoint lectures into myCourses.

• Upload in the original PowerPoint format (.ppt)
• Advantages
• Can be easily printed by the students
• Disadvantages
• Students need PowerPoint software or the free powerpoint viewer installed on their computer in order to view the presentation
• Depending on the file size, some students may encounter lengthy download waiting periods
  

• Convert to Portable Document Format (.pdf)
• Advantages
• Simple and easy to view and print
  
• Disadvantages
• Special software is needed for creation, http://www.cutepdf.com/ (suggested free pdf creator)
• Printing is limited to the format the pdf was originally saved
  
  
• Convert to HTML (.html)
  
• Advantages
• Presentations are easily viewed within the myCourses site
  
• Students do not need any software
  
• Disadvantages
• Difficult to print and save

• Depending upon the software, instructors can add audio commentary
• Disadvantages
